French Camp Revisited

Our second batch of French camps has officially begun.

Although this younger family had a bit of instruction three years ago, this was the year we did a full four day camp (which really meant half days.)

Teddy and the boys wear their Bonjour! stickers.

The boys, nine and seven, were the main participants, but the girls joined in from time to time, depending on whether we were at our house or theirs.

We moved our noisy games to their house, once the neighbours downstairs commented on the wild behaviour and thuds on their ceiling.

I didn't ask the boys to dress like this, but they each wore their favourite colours the first day.

Here we're ready for a beanbag game to review colours.

Over the line!

It's hard to teach and show the action at the same time, so the boys look a bit posed here.

Plastic numbers cut from coffee can lids are useful for a lot of activities.

We made cupcakes to celebrate Teddy's birthday. Although Teddy is really over 70 years old, we decided he would have seven candles on his cupcakes. Teddy's friend is a dog puppet, Petit Georges. Georges, our usual mascot, wasn't able to attend this year. Big Brother finally just tipped the bowl to get that batter into the muffin tins.

Grandpa and Little Sister decorated a beautiful cupcake.

Little Brother is intent on getting as many sprinkles as possible on the surface of his cupcake.

Teddy opens his present. What will it be?

A tennis racquet!

Big Brother helps Teddy bat a balloon, while Little Brother uses his regular tennis racquet to hit it back.

Teddy in his new outfit poses for his official birthday portrait.

And of course we sang to him in French!
I'm not sure why we ended up with two candles on his cake. Big Sister insisted Teddy wear a crown.
Here's the gang, ready to have Teddy open his presents.

Au revoir!

See you next year!
